You ask about other kid's books published in 1924. Checking out the Goodreads list of most popular books published in 1924 I see right away that THE FIRST BOXCAR CHILDREN BOOK was published in 1924! I loved that book (and the whole series) as a kid, and it definitely has enduring appeal.
