I used to sleep with a knife under my pillow. I still do, occasionally, on particularly anxious days.

And I am absolutely willing to use deadly force if someone is attempting to use it on me. I'd rather knife 'em in the groin and run screaming, but I'll use it if I have to.

ANYWAY. That grim subject aside, I love these books too, so much! The ways of doing things then were also really attractive to me. I remember I used to play "Little House" at school and make things. I wonder if that's not why I got into knitting.
