Uh. Sorry about the lack of content, here! My life... pretty much blew up in my face for a bit there, and I haven't been doing a lot of non-Kindle reading. (The annoying part about liveblogging these Newberys / Mock Newberys is, that I need my whole big clunky laptop to do it on. Otherwise I just wind up with books that I've liveblogged but not typed up the liveblogs. :P)

Also, it turns out that critical re-reading of a book you loved when you were fifteen is possibly the slowest and most painful thing EVER. So I'm being verbose and having a lot of thoughts! And enjoying the good bits massively! And... trying to strike a balance between defending the author and acknowledging problematic bits, all of which takes a lot of talking. o_O

(Also it's a very different book from the Newberys, which was kind of the point - both of the book, which seriously has a subplot ABOUT THE HORRIBILITY OF 1920s YA LITERATURE, and of putting it on the list - but it means I'm... un-hitting my stride, a bit.)

Also I might have 300 pages to go, so it's going to be a while. Whence this post. ;S
