I got partway through second season on my latest rewatch of Stargate SG-1 before I had to stop for eyestrain, so I am summarizing some of my notes here for better findability next time I take a stab at it.

I just finished reading A Night in the Lonesome October, by Roger Zelazny. I liked it; very clever, very twisty. (Years ago, I attempted to read it day-by-day according to its structure, but I have not the attention span for that, so I read it this time in one go.)

Random spoilery thoughts:

I think I should like to read some more Zelazny. Has anyone recommendations? The library appears to possess an assortment.

(I have also recently read Rose Daughter, on Ursula Vernon's recommendation from the intro to Bryony and Roses, but nothing about it made me think I would especially want to read more Robin McKinley. I think her style is not a thing that works for me.)

I can't actually fall asleep with a cat in my bed -- some part of me is too worried I'll flop the wrong way and squish him -- but I let him sleep here anyway tonight, because he usually sleeps with my aunt, who has been gone all week on vacation, and he was lonely. Now I have a massive headache, and I don't know if it's because sinuses (I am mildly allergic to animal dander) or because of a crick in my neck, or because lack of sleep, or because of something unrelated to cat, such as too much computer / TV / screen time.

(Yuletide is kicking my ass. I didn't even sign up, but a story idea from one of the letters has seized my brain, and I'm seriously considering making it a Nano and cutting it down to size afterwards. It's a large plotty idea that keeps growing more arms, completely unlike my usual one-scene neutronium pieces. I still need at least three more character names...)

Sometime today, I have to telephone the Social Security disability office and give them contact info for my physical therapist and my gynecologist, and possibly someone else I'm forgetting. Also, the toilet is stopped up. :P

Some months ago, [personal profile] lost_spook did the [community profile] isurrendered meme, which goes as follows:

1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them.
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.

(I do not guarantee that I will be able to provide show prompts for any of y'all, but I can attempt it if you wish?)

Anyway, my prompt was: you have a new SF show to run! And nobody in it is human... ;-D Which does admittedly play to my preferences... XD So, having been reminded by Spook's recent post that I did in fact come up with some stuff for this, I'm trying to pull together the rest.
